01. Conveyor automation of the production process

The production company “MetalTech”, specializing in the production of metal structures, encountered problems in the management of production processes due to the manual movement of workpieces.

Problem:

Constant delays at various stages of production, an increase in the number of errors and a significant increase in operating costs. In addition, the company was unable to efficiently utilize production space due to limited manual labor capacity.

Problem:

The company’s management set a task: to find a way to automate the internal movement of products to increase work efficiency, reduce logistics costs within the shops, and reduce the number of production errors.

Decision:

After analyzing the needs of the MetalTech company, the KONSORT team developed a complex solution for automating the production process using conveyor systems. The project included the implementation of the following solutions:

  1. Conveyor systems for transporting workpieces between production stages, which allowed to reduce the time of movement and minimize delays.
  2. Roller conveyors for transporting large and heavy products, which ensured smooth movement of overall structures.
  3. Automated sorting lines, which made it possible to reduce the number of errors in product sorting and processing.
  4. Lifting platforms for processing at different levels of production premises, which ensured more efficient use of vertical space.

Implemented equipment for automation of production processes:

  1. Belt conveyors – 6 units for continuous transportation of materials between shops.
  2. Vertical lifts – 3 units for moving materials between different levels of the production facility.
  3. Sorting lines – 2 units for automated distribution of products at various stages of production.
  4. Pallet conveyors – 4 units for moving oversized materials to the packing area.

The results of the conveyor automation of the enterprise:

  • Increased productivity by 45% – automation of the product movement process significantly reduced the time to process orders.
  • Reduction of operating costs by 30% – reduction of the need for manual labor and reduction of downtime.
  • Increased order fulfillment accuracy by 20% – automated sorting lines minimized the risk of human error.
